Melon Melee

A moment of Melon Melee gameplay

A short advert, then you play.

How to play

The goal

Slice the fruit thrown up in front of you and let nothing fall past you. You get five lives, and the fruit comes thicker and faster the longer you last. On a phone or tablet, tap where you see the fruit — each tap is one slice. On a keyboard, pad or mouse, hold blade and move the cursor to sweep it.

What scores

Slicing a bomb costs you a life, so a wild swing through a crowded screen is the most expensive move in the game. Every fruit pays. Fruit cut in quick succession pays a rising multiplier: cut the next one before the game throws the next one, and the multiplier climbs. Let a throw go by with nothing cut — or lift the blade on a keyboard — and it starts again. A fruit that falls off the bottom un-sliced costs a life. Clearing a stage pays a bonus that grows with the stage. Losing your last life ends the run with what you banked. Restarting or reloading mid-run ends it, and a spent entry does not come back. Leaving the tab pauses you; the controls come back released.
