Swarmfront

A short advert, then you play.
How to play
The goal
Hold the line against a swarm that flies in, forms up, and then dives at you in ones and twos. Behind them the rest of the swarm — the Front — presses down the screen the whole time, and it costs a life if it reaches you. Every enemy you shoot out of the formation pushes it back, so the answer to it is the same as the answer to everything else here: keep shooting. You get five lives. Bank 3,750 points and one lost life comes back — once a run. Clear a wave and the next one flies harder.
What scores
Every enemy pays, and an enemy shot while it is diving is worth double the same enemy sitting in formation — so wait for the dive if you can hold your nerve. Later waves pay more than earlier ones, and clearing a wave pays a clear bonus. A commander can catch your ship in a tractor beam instead of killing you: shoot the commander that holds it and you get the fighter back flying alongside you, firing two shots for one, and that rescue pays a bonus of its own. Bonus waves shoot back at nothing and pay a large bonus if you hit every enemy in them. Being hit costs a life, and losing your last one ends the run with what you banked. Restarting or reloading mid-run ends it, and a spent entry does not come back. Leaving the tab pauses you; the controls come back released.
